Up for Grabs :: Dinner Date

Mar 22, 2011 by

Want a free dinner? (it won’t be like the above)
Let me explain.  No, there is too much.  Let me sum up.

So, as many of you know, I’m eschewing restaurants and take-out with a firm hand this month.  But it won’t always be this way!  In fact, once Easter has come and gone, I’ll be back to my habits, haunting my culinary haunts, all over Chicago.

And I want YOU (yes, YOU) to join me!
It’s simple, really.

You leave a comment on any blog post new or old (comment here on the blog, not on FB or Twitter), and you’ll be entered to win a seat at the table with me when I have my first meal back in a restaurant!  And what’s more — I’ll pay.  You heard correctly.  It won’t be Charlie Trotter’s, but it won’t be Potbelly, either.  Someplace organic, atmospheric, and delicious–like Red Rooster or Cafe Lula.
I’ll choose two winners from a hat, and the three of us (and maybe some friends?) will have a grand old time.  Huzzah!

The Rules

  • Eligible entries will consist of comments made on the blog itself between March 21st and April 22nd.
  • The more times you comment, the more times you’re entered!
  • If you don’t live in Chicago and your name is picked, you and I will come up with some equally awesome prize to send to you.
  • Comments that are offensive or unrelated will be deleted and will not count as entries.

That’s it!  It’s that easy!

Happy commenting (and soon, eating!)
Maybe there will be raspberry ginger ale!

Omnomnomnomnom! I love food. This is Rachel, by the way. I once wrote one blog post (one time a long time ago), and it seems this is the only way I can post as not anonymous.

I'm in it to win it. For me, eating anywhere that isn't in my apartment and doesn't require me to cook is the equivalent of going out to eat. So I'm going to come to your house and you're going to cook everything I demand. And I am a very, very picky eater. What I don't like goes on the floor. And I will not, repeat WILL NOT, eat the next course until that floor is clean enough for me to eat off of.

Chelsea why are you so freaking cool. I wish I still lived in Chicago for the chance to win. I'd love to share a meal with you. You need a trip to New York and then dinner is on me, my dear!

Chelsea, I really like your blog. I read often and I don’t comment enough. I’d love to see a post about how your commitment to consumer responsibility has shaped your wedding. Making the best choices isn’t always easy, and I’d like to know what special challenges you face as a bride to be.
